Our little one had a terrible time latching from birth. We had a lactation consultant assess her latch at 8 days old and she suggested we get her evaluated by Dr. Randy. I am so glad we did. She had a tongue and lip tie which Dr. Randy clipped. Within a week of the procedure she was able to latch properly (without pain!) and gained 11 ounces! It was worth every penny. The office staff are amazing as well!
My baby was born with a lip and tongue tie. For the first 5 weeks of her life it went undiagnosed and we struggled with pain breastfeeding and failure to gain weight I was nursing, pumping, and supplementing with the pumped milk every 3 hours around the clock. Once she was diagnosed with the ties, the lactation consultant recommended a consult with Dr. Randy. We met with him on a Thursday and discussed our options. Her laser surgery was performed the following Tuesday. We immediately saw huge improvement and have not had to supplement her since. She jumped from 3% to 95% in weight over the next month. We would not have been able to continue breastfeeding if it wasn't for Dr Randy!
Dr. Randy and his staff were excellent to my two year old son. We were referred from Dr. Adam Hahn (whose office is also excellent) in Columbia, SC due to the fact that Dr. Hahn found a Grade 4 lip tie and posterior tongue tie and Dr. Hahn doesn't sedate in his office. Dr. Randy's staff were great and got us right in for the sedation and laser surgery! To explain, my son was choking several times a day during meals, with liquids or solids, and just randomly on his own saliva. It was terrible, however, Dr. Randy saw us ASAP and we have not choked since the procedure! I cannot thank them all enough and even his preschool teacher noticed a 100% change for the better in his spirit, he sings, and said she hears him speak more words than ever. We drive from Johns Island to see Dr. Randy b/c of how amazing he was with our son's lip and tongue tie surgery. I feel he is very pro-breastfeeding. Waiting room is great for kids. The only negative I would say is that I wish they were more natural-minded. I felt like I didn't have an option of saying no to fluoride on my son's teeth today, next time I will speak up. I think they will respect our decision, I just wish it was easier to say no, and not feel judged.
Dr. Randy has been such a wonderful help with ny two kids. My son had problems breastfeeding as an infant and I was refered to Dr. Randy. He confirmed both a lip tie and tongue tie and cliped them both! Now We have an infant daughter with the same problem :( His nurses and staff have been wonderful also at helping me make this possible for her! I definitely recomend Dr. Randy for anything dental related!!
