I camped on the water, but you can hear traffic. So, so much for being idyllic. Also, there was road construction the night I stayed... not exactly their fault, but the reason most of us camp ($50/night for a tent?!) is to get some peace.
Probably a good place to party.
This is a great campground, with great amenities. Unfortunately their staff is the reason they get a poor review. One man, by the name of J.R., rolled into my friend's campsite rude and cussing, and then he started to make accusations that were so wild that he couldn't have been sane. Regardless it was such a waste of a good campground. Go to James Island Park instead. He really diluted the quality of a KOA campground.

Even though I dread leaving Miami, which is paradise, to visit South Carolina, which is as exciting as a bug bite, this KOA makes it much better
This KOA is a clean and friendly facility with a smiling staff! The cabins are cute and clean. The Caboose is amazing. They have basketball too! The prices are comparable to the 50 other KOAS I know.
The campsite is very nice. Lake, trails, cabins, etc. and it's very clean. Camp store which has a lot of items stays open until 9:00 pm. One star lost due to a rude employee (JR). This employee was incredible rude to us while asking us to leave a particular campsite that had a nicer fire pit. We had asked an employee about the site and we were told it was a community area. JR didn't care and wanted us out of that space. No one used the area for the next 24 hours. This KOA is a very nice campground, but we are unlikely to return after the experience and no follow up from management.
Great campground. Especially for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did have a mix up on our site due to no fault of the KOA. A person left their camper and refused to move it. So they gave us a discount and made sure we were still next to our traveling companions. The secenarey was pretty. The walking trail was really neat. Lots to do. We will definitely stay there again.
